ANOTHER EASY KNITTED COMFORT SCARF PATTERN
For a scarf 4-5 inches wide and 60 inches long with fun fur decoration at both ends.
Materials:
• Approx. 100 yards of soft, smooth worsted-weight yarn (or 200 yards of DK weight, doubled) • Approx 12 yards of Fun Fur or other eyelash yarn, in two balls of 6 yards (24 ft.) each.
Instructions:
Holding 1st ball of fun fur and main yarn together, cast on 10 stitches on size 17 (or whatever you need to make a scarf not wider than 5-inches).
Knit every row until you run out of fun fur. Try to stop the fun fur at the end of a row, not in the middle.
Then continue with just the main yarn, knitting every row (garter stitch), or using one of the following stitches: faggot, diagonal or garter wrap and drop. Do not use stockinette stitch – it curls up and does not flatten out.
Measure the length of what you knit with both yarns together. Continue until your scarf measures 60-inches, less the amount you knit with both yarns together. Usually that will be 54-56 inches.
Add the second piece of fun fur and knit every row until the second area with fun fur is the same as the first.
At this point, the scarf should measure 60-inches. Bind off. Weave in ends.
Please be sure to attach the gift tag, signed with your first name. Also, please return any extra yarn. Any questions, please call Leslye at (310) 547-3673.
