Materials:

• Crochet hooks sizes US L (8mm) and US M/N (9mm) (This size works best if you knit tight; if you crochet more loosely use a combination of smaller sizes.)
   
• MC (Main Color)-Worsted weight (medium, 4)   (This pattern looks best with a variegated yarn.) – 150 yards (450 feet)
   
• F (Fun Fur) or novelty yarn – 20 yards (60 feet)

Pattern:

1^st End:

With larger hook and one strand of MC and F held together, chain 12.

Row 1:  DC in 4^th chain from hook (counts as 2 DC), and in each chain across-10DC.  Chain 3, turn.

Row 2:  DC in 2^nd DC and each DC across, DC in top of turning chain-10DC.  Chain 3, turn.

Repeat Row 2 to desired length (I find 6 rows gives a nice “look” to the finished scarf), working the last DC until 2 loops remain on the hook.  Clip F (leaving several inches to weave in later) and with one strand of MC, YO and pull through both loops on hook.

Body:

Row 1:  Switch to smaller hook and continuing with MC, chain 2 and turn.  DC in 2^nd DC, 2 DC in next DC, DC in next DC, 2 DC in next DC, DC in next 2 DC, 2 DC in next DC, DC in next DC, DC in top of turning chain-13 DC.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 2:  DC in 2^nd DC and each DC across, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 3:  DC in 2^nd and 3^rd DC, chain 3, skip 2 DC, TR in next 3 DC, chain 3, skip 2 DC, DC in next 2 DC, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 4:  DC in 2^nd and 3^rd DC, chain 2, skip 2 DC, SC in top of each TR, chain 2, skip 2 DC, DC in next 2 DC, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 5:  DC in 2^nd and 3^rd DC, chain 3, skip 2 DC, SC in top of each SC, chain 3, skip 2 DC, DC in next 2 DC, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 6:  DC in 2^nd and 3^rd DC, chain 2, skip 2 DC, TR in top of each SC, chain 2, skip 2 DC, DC in next 2 DC, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 7:  DC in 2^nd and 3^rd DC, 2 DC in chain 3 space, DC in top of each TR, 2 DC in chain 3 space, DC in next 2 DC, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Row 8:  DC in 2^nd DC and each DC across, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 2, turn.

Repeat Rows 2-8, ending the last medallion with Row 7, until the scarf measures approximately 56” (or 60” minus the length of the 1^st end; this should be 12-13 medallions).  

Last Row:  DC in 2^nd DC, DC2tog over next 2 DC, DC in next DC, DC2tog over next 2 DC, DC in next 2 DC, DC2tog over next 2 DC, DC in next DC, work DC in top of turning chain until 2 loops remain on hook.  With one strand of MC and F held together, YO and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook-10 DC.

2^nd End:

Row 1:  Switch to larger hook and continuing with one strand of MC and F held together, chain 3 and turn.  DC in 2^nd DC and each DC across, DC in top of turning chain-10 DC.  Chain 3, turn.

Row 2:  DC in 2^nd DC and each DC across, DC in top of turning chain.  Chain 3, turn.

Repeat Row 2 until 2^nd end has the same number of rows as 1^st end, fasten off.  Weave in all ends.
