Other Knitting Groups Who Support Handmade

People knit for us locally and all around the country.

Here's an article from the Verdugo Woodlands West Homeowners Association The Woodlands Grapevine Fall 2019 newsletter letting their members know about Handmade.  This group is located in Glendale, CA.

Knitting Circle of Mesa Verde United Methodist Church in Costa Mesa, CA

On April 9th, 2019, Judi and Lori delivered a large box of scarves their group knitted for Handmade.  They stayed to help wrap scarves and they both marveled how beautiful and creative the scarves are that are donated to Handmade.

Here they are with Leslye showing the beautiful scarves their circle of knitters donated to Handmade.

Needles and Knots

You will recognize some of the members in the photo (on the left, Evelyn and Chris from Handmade).  They meet at Joanne’s every other Fridays from 3pm to 5pm.  Their leader is Maureen Ferudi, who is not in the picture.  Her email address is:  Maureen Furedi (maureenfuredi@verizon.net).

Ami Kurino said, "After we finished our photo session, a shopper stopped by to peek at us knitting, and was very interested in the activity.  We recruited her to join us."

Redwoods Knitters

Once part of the Purlettes, the Redwoods Knitters are now enjoying being a part of Handmade Especially For You and love receiving our kits to knit.

Sarah from Redwoods Knitters says, "Thanks for all you do to facilitate our participation.  Everyone enjoys the work and feels happy to be productive for such a good cause.  It is fun to see what interesting combinations of colors and textures your volunteers create in the kits.  We are all over 80 years old and still love to be useful."

Here are some photos of them with the scarves they've donated to us.

The Purlettes Plus One were featured in a Shark Tank TV episode where Sarah Oliver pitched her handbags for the sharks to invest in.  The Purlettes were her knitters.  You can watch/read what happened to them at:
