MATERIALS:
• Size 17 needles • Yarn A: Worsted yarn/#4 about 325-feet (109 yards) • Yarn B: Sport-weight yarn/#2 about 275-feet of (92 yards) • 2 25-foot balls of fun fur or other novelty yarn
DIRECTIONS:
Holding Yarn A and one ball of novelty yarn together, cast on 10 or 11 stitches or enough stitches to make a scarf at least 4-inches wide but not wider than 4.5-inches.
Row 1. Knit first stitch. Then knit in front and back of the next stitch (increase one). Knit across to the last 3 stitches. Knit 2 together, knit the last stitch.
Row 2. Knit every stitch.
Continue in this manner until you have used up all the novelty yarn. (Stop the novelty yarn at the end of a row, not in the middle). Attach Yarn B (the variegated sport-weight yarn).
Continue knitting with Yarn A and Yarn B in the pattern until the scarf measures about 56-inches. Cut Yarn B at the end of a row (not in the middle). Attach the second ball of novelty yarn.
Continue in pattern, using Yarn A and novelty yarn until you have just enough Yarn A/novelty yarn to cast off. Cast off on Row 2.
Please sign your first name on the Handmade tag and use a piece of scrap yarn to attach it to your scarf.
